#STANDFORsomething

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, recognizes the value of ‘Youth Activism in Malta’.

‘Youth Activism in Malta’, is an initiative which supports an EU campaign #standforsomething’,  part of our collaboration and partnership with the European Youth Card Association as part of the ‘Conference on the Future of Europe’.

The Conference on the Future of Europe is a unique and timely opportunity for European citizens to debate on Europe’s challenges and priorities. No matter where you are from or what you do, this is the place to think about what future you want for the European Union.

Youth Activism in Malta, hosted a panel made up of different activists who work towards different issues and concerns.

The panel members for ‘Youth Activism in Malta’ were:

Ms. Antonella Bugeja ( EYCA Youth Activist)

Mr Steve Zammit Lupi (Youth Activist),

Dr Michael Briguglio

Dr Maria Pisani

The online forum which was also shared through our social media portals, gave the space to young people to bring forward questions, matters and concerns to be addressed by the panel members.

Many of the suggestions brought forward developed a very interesting and smooth conversation, which resulted in attaining knowledge but more over have the young people voice what’s on their mind whilst also sharing new ways and means on how we as EU citizens can grow more conscious and aware.

More over, the conversation between the panel members and the young participants proved to be a way forward on how activism and being active citizens provides us the possibility to have a better standard of living.

“Sometimes you may learn to change the approach you take to express you opinion – changing your approach or opening it up, rather than narrowing it, can bring further success to your cause.” – Steve Zammit Lupi

‘You have to be fuelled by what you’re passionate about’ – Antonella Bugeja
